ABOUT 21st Century Learning at DPS
Welcome to our website.
We hope you find this helpful in building capacity in our learners and focussing on learning for all. Our vision is to achieve a dynamic 21st century learning environment that is driven by excellent pedagogy, and supported by instructional technology. This website aims to widen the use of an integrated process of assessment whilst incorporating Information and Communication Technology capabilities. Technology will never replace great teachers, but technology in the hands of a great teacher can be transformational.
Students appear to have natural abilities to use emerging technology and are not afraid to take risks in their learning. But the reality is, while students easily grasp the entertainment and communication value of the devices they use, they need to be taught how these tools can be used in learning and critical thought.
We know that students graduating today will need to have a skill set that is significantly different from the skills needed in the past and not necessarily defined by qualities measured by most tests. At Dardanup Primary School, these skills can be seen in our own unique competencies that students will need to succeed in post-secondary and beyond and underpin teaching in a 21st century classroom.
